Alcoholics Anonymous will never require an AA member to contribute money to the program

While there are no dues or fees for membership, most AA members consider giving back and contributing to the program an important part of their recovery program. Through Tradition 7 we strive to be self supporting and is an important part of taking back our lives.

While the financial cost of the AA program is entirely up to you, There is a cost for the program and that is "Willingness" and "Rigorous Honesty". When taking the steps this "cost" is considered by most as more important than comtributing funds and perhaps harder to give.
