Western Washington Area 72 District 7

The WWA 72 District 7 of Alcoholics Anonymous consists of Southern Vancouver, WA (South of Fourth Plain Blvd.) and East consisting of Camas, Washougal all the way over to Carson, WA.

In order to fullfil our Primary Purpose of helping Alcoholics and those still suffering, Alcoholics Anonymous breaks down the organization into smaller divisions, so that Alcoholics can directly help other Alcoholics at a local level.

We are in the Western Washington Area 72 (WWA 72) which consists of the Western half of Washington State. The Area is then broken down into Districts. Your are looking at the Website for District 7. We share the city of Vancouver and Southwest Washington with District 37 just to our North. To the South is Oregon Area 58 (Portland) and their Districts. We all strive to work together to fullfil our Primary Purpose.

Who makes up District 7?

All AA Members who attend Home Groups in the district makeup District 7. In order to accomplish this each Home Group elects a General Service Representative (GSR) to attend the district meetings. The Home Groups make all the decision for the district through their GSR.

What Does District 7 Do?

The Alcoholics Anonymous Primary Purpose is to stay sober and help other alcoholics to achieve sobriety. One way that Home Groups accomplish this through holding meetings. An additional avenue that Home Groups take is to use the district to take an extra step and help other alcoholics outside their group. AA Members that give their time and passion volunteer as Elected Trusted Servants or Committee Members. These volunteers take the desires of the Home Groups and spread the AA message to people in Treatment Centers, Correctional Facilities, Educate the professional community (Doctors, Lawyers, Businesses etc.), make sure that Alcoholics can get to meetings when home bound, translation for non English speaking members, supply AA literature to those that need it. The list of ways these volunteers fill our Primary Purpose goes on and on.

Volunteering in this way is a great way to help other Alcoholics and enhance their own sobriety. If you would like to put yourself up for service feel free to attend a District meeting (Listed on the Events Calender) or tell any Home Group GSR and they will direct you in the right direction.
